just need to pick peoples brains, having a hell of a job fitting my mongoose, the tailpipe is about 2 inches out from the rear section pipe, im having to keep taking the pipe out from under the car and gassing/warming it up to bend on the bench, been all afternoon and still no near to joining the 2 together. has anyone else had this problem???

ps im using bits of mongoose not one bought off the shelf?

cant get pics up :/

tailpipe section i.e. 5" slash cut section is 2 inches out from the exhaust pipe that comes over the sub frame.

So what ive been doing is heating up the long section and pushing it over to the right of the car to line up with the tailpipe, but even now after spending another 2 hours this evening im still no neaer for it to fit.

Ive just now cut 2 sections in the tailpipe to bend back and reweld tomo and also cut underneath so it can come out from under rear bumper tidy but the tailpipe is now on 45 degree angle out the back of the car???

There must be something wrong with the large section as I gopt a friend to tig weld the tailpipe as it wouldn't fit over and together ready to clamp, so im wondering if the large section isn't mongoose??

What is the center section connected to has any of it ever been renewed ie flanges might be welded on wrong of if downpipe has had new flexi etc ?

Front pipe is standard looking all lines up fine, centre section is the square box (cat replacement from mongoose, basically a road legal silencer) with a flange on either side, ive fitted it the same as my black pulsar, and the exhaust mount near the rear diff is in the right place, but the rear section is way out, which is why ive pushed it over with gas but its still not enough and its started to crease.

Without seeing it struggling to get my head round it do you think someones altered it to fit a back box in the past rather than just a tail pipe or something ? Any welds or anything showing ?

the car came with a 5zigen backbox which I sold, and that had been modified to fit exhaust but theres no sign of any alterations like creases of weld on the large section.

thank fred will have a look

no fred all standard, all the mounts underneath line up perfect but its just the tailpipe and the end of the large pipe will not mate, just about finished now just need an exhaust bracket to fit them on but its taken nearly 3 days to sort out :/
