So today, Inbetween jobs iv measure my combustion chamber cc and piston dish to figure out my compression ratio.
Iv read that 8.5:1 works well.
Ill list my spec so people get the idea
Hks pistons
Arp rod bolts
Lightened and balanced rods
Ported head
Tubular manifold with a kill k26 turbo with external
Hks 264 cams
And the usual exhaust fmic air. Filter blah blah

In looking for kick you in the face power. 1/4 mile of track day but mainly getting down the road ASAP in a straight line.

Iv figured that with a 1.5 head gasket I'll be getting 8.5:1. I'm debating if I should lower that some more?

I bought the turbo and manifold but I don't know what sort of boost it's efficiently capable of as I can't find much info on them.
My thinking is if it looks big then it's got to produce a load of boost.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Many thanks in advance.

This is what it says on the compressor housing
532710150 then 64 in a circle

not sure on the tubby as not come across one before but if your looking for drag type setup and you don't want to be lifting heads with raised boost levels then I would deffo not go less than a 1.5mm gasket, infact depending on boost being run I would probably fit a 1.8or 2mm as youll only be running 0 to wot so drivability midrange is not really important

I wasn't going to go less. 2mm gives me 8:1
I'm unsure how much boost this thing is going to produce.
I'm thinking 1.8 and see how it goes.
I'll do some more maths when I finish in the garage tonight and post my options.
Cheers for your help guys!

1.5mm is 8.5:1
1.8mm is 8.3:1
2mm is 8.2:1

Do a risk it for a boosty biscuit and go for the 2mm?
