First and foremost Ro sunny makes custom manifolds which will flow better again than these. But for one of my pulsars i have just had a standard manifold properly ported by a lad who dose headwork inc port n polish very well known with many years experiance also now dose alot of kit cars really knows his stuff done many one off custom conversions and was building engines for a few big companies who claimed to be offering engine builds they would send them to him. I just said i would mention he can port standard manifols now this is something you can do your self  just very time consuming but i am sure he flow tested mine so better than me attacking it with my dremel. I plan to send mine to get zircotec heat coated but its all money just thought i would mention this if anyone is interested i could ask for group buy price. I am sure he mentioned £80 so its not cheap but like i say he is very skilled and its time consuming.

The manifold is NOT masivly restrictive its more the elbow but every little helps and this will make a difference
THIS is not a forsale thread just trying to help people with things and put something back into a club i take alot of info advice etc from but if anyone is interested just ask if anything happens i will contribute fees to the club etc

I spoke to zirotec regarding ceramic coating on thursday and was quoted £180 for a standard manifold just to give you an idea mate

Bloody hell knew it was not cheap but thats a fair bit but i am great beliver in you get what you pay for. might wait and do it on my other R system. Suppose its long lasting and by the time you heat wrap and things. Thanks for the info

I think £80 sounds like a good price for a pro job,it took me a bloody age to do mine.

I did not do this and it would obviosly cost more to do but there is a large recess in the side of the manifold that can be cast welded up and then ground out from the inside to improve it even more.

this sounds interesting !
where is your friend based ?
i have a cracked mani (one of those old 2fast2cool jobbies) so was planning on swapping the original back in !
how much difference does a ported unit make ? is it a noticable difference - or does it depend on other factors - i.e. only better if running higher boost (and things like that) ?

Any mod that gets more air in  and gasses out faster  is money well spent in my opinion scotland but i have one spare but as said see if theres any interest i can pay towards the club and sell it/them

I got two done just because i was up there and he says one was bigger at block end and other one  at the other both were standard manifolds

It surly makes some difference and coupled with a elbow should be a good combo

yep as johnny said I did mine around 2 years ago now and its a lot of work and time plus all the dremmel bits you eat through.
never had mine flowed (that would be difficult to do as all 4 branches flow into one collector so cant see how you can flow it properly tbh unlike a head which can be done with valves closed on one cylinder at a time.

but even so £80 is cheap and saves 4-6 boring hours with a dremmel and countless bits lol

heres the one I did earlier which was fitted to my car and now glenn is the proud owner of
I opened the ports up on that by just over 1mm and matched it to the head

cant remember what I used now Leighton, no there not dear to buy but I did go through quite a few to do it.
its the time thing mainly as its a monotonous job to try get them all the same size and shape but does improve things significantly especially if the heads ported and you have a freeflow elbow fitted
