My standard wheel only has a black wire.
Does it work with just the black wire connected?

you may have a "ring spacer" wich go between the wheel and the boss, with a male connection...

If you need to look at my car for anything just give me a shout mate because you're only up the road. I don't made popping up for you to compare anything on our cars so you can see how it's been done on mine. Just let me know if you need to check anything and I'll pop up mate

Done it. Turners out there was a thin spacer on the bottom of the wheel which the red wire came off. Removed this and tried it with the one black wire and it works fine. God knows what the spacer was for. More lightening, what with that and sheering bolts I'm saving all the time lol, I love mechanics , I've been sheering bolts since 1990 lol
