personally i would be wary of using that stu as you get fuel mixing with engine oil and this can soften cheap sealant till it gets to the point where it can break away from the sump pan or wherever, then it gets picked up and can block the oil pickup pipe and little bits that break away can also block oil ways.

i use loctite 3830 or tiger seal, its not cheap but a damned site cheaper than a rebuild Wink

seemed to work for me, used that exact stuff a couple of weekends ago for sealing my oil pan and no leaks so far, i got mine for £4.99 from halfords Sad

oh dear bob i thought it was decent stuff as it was same price a locktite

ive never used it before so i stick to what i know to be good gear, the loctite 5980 we pay nearlly £9+vat for a small tube its not cheap!

thing is you wont know from the outside whether its eating away and softening the sealant on the inside (where it oozes out over the edges) untill its all too late and knocks start appearing, just not worth the risk tbh

blue loctite works for me awsell always use on the tractors and never leaks after Very Happy

I used wurth rtv black even more expensive th an loctite but i got mine at discount as my next door nieghbour works for them lol

yeah noticied my sump was leaking so gonna get some locktite stuff, probably not fitted the pan properly anyway so best get it sorted for piece of mind
