was trying to remove the starter motor on my tvr today and what a fook of a job that is.
it took me half hour to find the bloody thing which is situated right at the top of gearbox under the drivetrain tunnel. to get the thing off and out you have to remove all the injection manifold complete with fuel rail, coil pack units and thats so you can only just get your hands on it.

spent the whole afternoon on it (claret everywhere) and still not got the fooking thing off....il never moan about removing the Y bracket on a gtir again to do a startermotor Laughing

yeah they are certainly enthusiasts cars like the pulsar, not a car to buy if your no good with the spanners yourself lol
i really never expected that v8 lump to be so unthought through though, ive never seen any car where the startermotor is so difficult to remove and thats including my old zx300tt Shocked

give it another 3 days and i may have completed the job Laughing .

and tom....yes your right, with the decats fitted there isnt a more awsome sounding car on the road, ive always wanted one from when i was a kid but was never able to afford one.
for now i just wanna get the shims sorted and starter fixed then use it throughout the summer.
come next winter il pull the whole car apart and rebuild it so i know every single nut and bolt on the thing, i may even rebuild the engine to 4.8 white rose spec which will be something ultra special, like the pulsars they are very very tunable

when I was putting my engine back in I was looking at the y bracket and couldn't help but think it looked a bit overkill but I put it on just to be on the safe side but was later told I should have just left it off all together is this the case ? A friend of a friend has a TVR and yes they do sound amazing!

Just read this thread after being in the same struggling frustrating position. Ive spent all afternoon in work today fannying around with a cable operated window regulator on a Qvale Mangusta. Ive done similar jobs to this in the past but this has totally fried my head and has put me in a really bad mood.

Thank god for Peroni lol Laughing
