Howdy people,

While over working with colleagues in California, I took a trip up to Willow Springs International Raceway (WSIR) to see the "Fastest Road Course in North America". Really nice place with good facilities. Best of all............................ NO NOISE LIMITS! :DA friend of mine (Jack Olsen) took me out for a few laps in his 1972 Porsche 911 RSR replica. If anyone hasn't heard of Jack, he's the (crazy!) guy who built an amazing car garage in his house. Details of the garage can be found on his dedicated website:

Jack Olsen's 12-gauge Garage

Anyway, normally his RSR looks like this:

but for track purposes it was converted to look like:

He managed to capture a short 3/4 lap video showing the pace he has around WSIR. Lap times are around 1:28 - 1:30, and it was nice to get past the Time Attack BMW Very Happy Maximum speed is limited by the gearing, but was around 140-145 mph. Enjoy the video!

Cheers,
Dave

Yes, that was me. Nice to be in a car with a little more grip than the GTiR, although that might be the side-effect of slicks among other aero aids..........

Cheers,
Dave

I do agree, but I also appreciate the run off areas should something go wrong LOL Very Happy Typical Californian track, but I've already planned my visit to Laguna Seca this summer which should be a little more interesting Wink
