Whats everyones take on these claims coming up now on most R's for sale?

Most now saying get the GTIR now before they rocket up in value!!

Now I agree the GTIR is something special but Integrale status? Escort Cossie status? Not at the moment. I agree the lower mileage ie under 50k cars might be something special in the next decade or so but anyone selling a 100k mileage, performance modded, multiple owner R need their head checked if they think their car is something special.

escort cosworth have dropped massivly in price over last last few years i may be wrong but were only highly valued in the uk
integrale have really only recently jump in price but seems looking in auto trader they jumped back down in price just as quick
dont think the gtir will ever be worth much in monetary terms in the uk if petrol keeps going up in price the way it has in the last few years think youd be struggling to sell ant performance car

I think this topic has been brought up across evey gtir forum alot of times the gtir will never have the status of the integrale and the cosworth as alot of people look at there rally success and heritage and unfortunately the gtir did not have the success, also it comes down to desirability and the gtir is just not desirable even though we all love it so much. Hopefully as has been said on the other forums due to the dwindling numbers of the gtir we will be able to put prices up and to be honest I haven't seen the cheap 1k pulsars like I used to see Wink

The trouble is that instead of selling them for £1k everyone is breaking them and making 2 or 3 times the money.

Couple of years back piston heads used to have quite a few pulsars on it for between 1-1.5k not saying they were in the best shape though

yep they are on the rise pricewise and we are buying fewer and fewer now as they are no where near as available as they were a couple years back.
all the crappers or at least a majority of them have been pulled apart now so in a funny sort of way that's a good thing if you own a good one

they will never ever be in the realms (pricewise) of old fords and so forth but they will command a fair price soon, especially if you have a uk sunny in fair nick

Higher price GTiRs may sell but will be a slow process as simply not that many people wanting one who has that sort of cash in mind. GTiR became popular due to cost to performance ratio & most admirers of the GTiR are practical people who enjoy using them rather than storing one in a bubble in the lock up.
Couple of good unmolested examples have cropped up in last 18 months & neither sold quickly or for original asking price.
Personally I prefer the JDM spec car & would not pay a premium for a UK model.
If you want an investment go buy some gold or portfolio with Invesco ;-)

Never judge a car from pictures, trouble with AutoInfusion is they have a habit of tidying up cars a lot prior to sale & every ad has a cherished example wrapped in cotton wool.
Had a grey one some time back at high price & super mint cherished example, had quite a bit of paintwork done on it & not the best finish to my eyes & also had been de-modified by them in attempt to improve value & appeal .
Mileage ain't low on the winter green either ...
Will be there for quite a while longer as simply no real collector appeal & not many GTiR enthusiasts want collection quality car or want pay that premium.

the status of the eudm sunny is already a collector status. there is a few left in France and in other countries in europe. Jdm are just used to be broken and feed the european GTiR.

here we have a good example for sale, it comes from Italy, and it is advertised at 13k euros, advertised at least since december.

i sold mine 7.5k euros 2 years ago, and now to get a new one it's really hard at a good price (below 5k).
JDM are not popular in here because we can't put them legaly on the road.

Why do you struggle to put a JDM car on the road ?

Is it because jdm cars do not release data on them ?

That grey one was the one I got and it was in need of abit of work doing to it like the clutch and some wiring!! the paintwork is now in need of fixing as some of the lacquer is peeling in the guttering and in a few other places. I still wish I had known abit about the cars before I bought it as I probably wouldn't have paid so much for mine had I known they're real values
