cheers for caliper Bob, got it fitted this morning.thanks

any ideas on what will keep making a cv boot split. had a new one fitted last week, had caliper fitted today, noticed the boot had split again, put another new one drove about 10 miles and its gone again, grease everywhere Sad

Got the part number for the ones that keep splitting ...... or make etc are they a universal boot ?

todays one was a universal one, as it was getting late in the day, not sure on last weeks one, although going by the spares place they got it from its probably pattern part

To be honest never really heard of it does it split in the same place both times ? .... maybe there is a sharp edge on the cv joint or its twisted itself up and split it that way .

no both different places, one was by the clamp on the cv and one was just a complete split, making it 2 pieces as such. (which was the universal one) will get it back in next week some time, just wondered if anyone had experience of it, might be just cheap shit boots

I got mine from there mate .... i would check and make sure that the joint is ok before you buy another could be that they were over stretched .

I fooking hate those things a complete waste of time the only good thing is the glue sticks anything together lol .

morning Bob, that boot seems to be holding fine, so cheers for that, i reckon it was just cheap pattern parts.
what time you at brands today? i wasn't able to get a lid, its ok i'll just come and watch i'll bring my lad with me if thats ok
