Looking for anyone who has had good classic quotes for the GTIR?

I had a great quote months ago but cant remember who it was with and when I phoned up A Flux the other day I was quoted £550 and that was limited mileage too.

Previously I had a quote of £300, unlimited mileage as a 2nd car, as long as I could prove I had another car!!!

im with peter james aswell and im £330 a year unlimited mileage, they dont use no claims bonus and you gain none either, im going to try and use my ncb on my 2nd car which my fiance is main driver, i heard if you dont use your ncb for 2 years you actually lose it

Just spoke to Peter James and quoted £305 unlimited mileage, says the only way they could lower it is if i went limited at 1500, ie 30 miles a week!!!! Hell, I could do 30 miles in 15 minutes on the motorway haha

By looking at the responses it seems a normal price, will try Footman peeps next.

PS That was with a CU80 as well.

Insurance is just a money making thing to be honest... Nothing to do with the car or driver or area.
I spoke to some lad once at a show whos mrs worked for an insurance broker!

Basicly prices of premiums go up & down each day, for eg Stu has paid £800 today but if he rang up tomorrow it may have been £600. & he also told me it depends what time of day you insure the car

So all bulls**t if you ask me! To make money.

If you think about it, how dous classic insurance put there prices so cheap? Still a fast powerfull car your insuring & still kept at the same address as it would be on a normal policy, Yeh ok you limited to 5000 miles a year but in all respect what has that got to do with it? They don't limet you to what day or hours of the week you drve it. So your still just as liable to have an accident or be a victim of theft at your property!

No wonder people drive with no insurance, not that I condone that. But insurance premiums are bulls**t Mad

Totally agree gaz and they know they got you by the balls yet them fookers still keep squeezing them yearly Laughing
and yes i can understand why people drive without it especially when you see the price of  first time drivers premiums and thats normally just for a 1.0ltr pop pop car  i think its pathetic when they pay 4 or 5 times what the car is worth in most cases .

Yes, I had a quote from AF a couple of months ago for £127 for the R but for some reason didn't say yes at the time. When I rang back 2 days later they wouldn't come below £240. I'd even made the call from work so it was recorded but they just said it must have been a special offer on the day and wouldn't budge.Sad Sad

My price to pay was the lowest and after 3 and half hours of phoning around getting quotes around £2k and getting others saying they don't insure Subaru any more I thought fuck it...
