My shit heaps

Hi all.

I thought I would up date you all on what ive been up to lol

I have still got my grey pulsar, just taken it off the road to restore it.
Im not sure if im doing a totally stock restoration.
Or doing a restoration on the shell and keep it the same spec just all new components.

This is how its looking now.

I have decided to do the restoration on it now because the rear arches I had put in 2 years ago have started to blister and blow the bodyfiller of.
im pissed off to be honest.
took the rear bumper off today and the arches behind it are rotten.
the guy hasn't touched them at all.
Plus I took the arch mouldings of and behind the arches lips is full of filler too.
I took some o the filler off the arches to look at the welded in arches and they have cut to much metal away and pieced it together with a strip of metal.
no treatment or primer, just filler over the new metal and its rusty under there.
I will show pics another day.

Im taking the forged engine out of my grey one and putting it into my black one.
I have a spare engine to rebuild for my grey one.

ive got this for me and my son to do as a project.
My son is 17 and doing a mechanics course at college.

Awesome mate, looks like you have got some work on your hands then. I'd be filthy about getting those arches done and they are shit in only 2 years aswell.

Yeah plenty to do mate lol

Im pissed about the arches, but it is what it is mate.
I will replace them in house and get the car painted again.
Its going into storage next week tho, I will get the black one sorted first and the skyline then plough my money into my grey one.

Busy bee stu. Yes just got to move on but that’s why I took my white one off the road he did not cut arches when I said if it needs it do it and year later it blistered.

Wow out in the workshop grafting on R's, at least we know what R stands for 'Rust' lol
Nice to see you actually got a proper R, the black ones.
I was thinking you a facebook addict, but you been busy building up the classic fleet and getting dirty in the workshop with 5 studs and a handful of nuts
No Hondas or Renaults in sight so you get top marks
Looks like you well over your subaru fling, blue never suited you anyway :-)

Good bodywork hard get . Even here with cheap labour quality panel fab and proper durable well finished paint quite expensive with only few you want use .
Very few who got skill do proper job easily and the dedication do whole process right and with quality products at all stages .
Paint and prep products pretty junk these days and more so in europe etc with stricter environment and health legislation.
Even factory paints today are piss poor to what used in japan in late 80's and early 90's .

Yeah been busy mate. went to Scotland to collect the black one, southern to fetch a white one and further down south to collect a red one.
We have 4 that's we are working on at the moment and picking up a sunny sr next week lol

I liked the Subaru haha id have another to be honest.
no honders as yet but I do want a white ep3 type r

Most places arent interested in doing a proper job unless you pay thousands mate.

Pain about the arches Stu as you say some people have different standards, nightmare! Sure it will be done right this time, got a nice collection there! That r33 will be a great project with your son. Cant believe his age now! To think you met me when I was 18 and I brought my first Pulsar lmao wet behind the ears and believed anything. Turning 30 in feb next year!

R33 is a nice project long term and another model thats only going to go up in price once you have restored it.
