Exhaust Manifold

Hi. I'm upgrading to a GT2871R turbo. Given it's a bigger turbo, it sits pretty close to the engine block. Are there Exhaust manifold spacers available? If so, your thoughts if used them and where can I source them.

In the past I’ve used a manifold flange with multiple gaskets and extended studs. Seen other people do that aswell.

What size spacer is that woody 10mm ?

Suprised you need one with a 2871 ? My advice is if you don’t need it don’t over complicate it as unless you get a good one it will warp a lot quicker than the standard flange and it’s double the gaskets just my opinion see what others think

3/8 so close enough, from vibrant performance

Good point about the turbo, my old one was a 2876r with a 3 or 4 inch inlet and it needed to be spaced quite a lot from memory

If you go with the Vibrant flange be aware it does have to be machined to achieve a seal with a gasket. I just went through this fitting a GTX2871R to mine. While it may be possible to make it work without a spacer, given my recent experience trying to align everything, I would not wish it on anyone to have to do it with less space. Here's the general guideline I went by when fitting my turbo. I don't recommend the giant loop in the oil return though.

I've installed several 2871's, even on the stock manifold and the only issue I ever had with contact was at the turbo inlet, if you get one with a 2.75" inlet, it will bolt straight on.

I'm running a gt2871r on a stock manifold with a 3" elbow with no clearance issues. The gt28 is available for the sr20 as a direct bolt on.

You can squeeze gt3071r there as well without spacer
