Went to fit my side skirts this arvo, and couldn't get them on.

Ive pushed the grommets into the sills

And fitted these things to the side skirts

Ive used a fair amount of pushing and cant get them to clip in, am I doing it wrong?

Maybe could of tried pushing grommets all in one. If ther lined up mate should just be a case of making a fist and good sharp tap/Waco with the back side of it. They just to tight to go in ? If so once in they should not come out so maybe dab of grease/Vaserline might help ?

That's what I was thinking mate, downside is those grommets are like impossible to remove without breaking, so I can try that but will have to buy more. I was just curious if anyone else has fitted them this way.

I'm yet to fit my side skirts. I need to drill the holes aftrr the sill repairs.
I have bought some new gromits but they aren't the nissan ones. I measured the original ones and found substitutes. Hopefully they work.

Anyone else had any problems? ADZ14 said his needed a good fist to get in but I've done that till my hand hurt lol. Thinking about using sikaflex and be done with it.

you think skirt deformed or flexing too easily so clip not protruding far enough engage or it purely too tight !
I done pair on car years ago and struggled with couple clips not wanting catch, had lube both parts slightly and give a real good fast hard tap to shock them in, hate plastic clips with a passion Evil or Very Mad
fecking expensive too for all plastic bits such as this and arch and window trims :-/

I hadn't thought about giving it some lube. Yeah its frustrating mate, I would have thought it would be easy.

It wouldn't surprise me if they have deformed from years sitting off the car though

Lube was only way I got them on without damage.
Is possible deformed from storage, had that issue with my 323 side skirts but as screwed on and not as rigid as R's could overcome the issue.
super frustrating are plastic clips and ballache if bust couple .

It's funny you mentioned it, because I noticed my front was abit funny getting on aswell. It was off the car for ages because stored in random positions.

Bench fitted the male and female clips this arvo, I didn't realise how tight they were to get together. Needed a good hammer to seat in. Makes me think the better option is to fit the 2 together before fitting the side skirts. Ordered some more so see how I go second time around.
