JB Weld

Anyone used JB weld products before? I have heard great these about these products. I wanted to seal up a couple of vacuum ports on my intake manifold. I could take the manifold off and get someone to weld it but JB weld was another option suggested to me.

What about the low heat weld sticks someone put on here a while back ?

Arghhh yeah that wouldn't be a bad idea, I'd need to buy a torch aswell for the job though.

Also never overlook araldite imo it's better and stronger

Them ali sticks ... looks quite good .... araldite is a good product and has been going for years .... although i would think you would need to glue a cap on or something

Cheers guys, I'll check out araldite aswell. I was going to pull the vacuum barb out and seal up the hole that's left. So what ever option will work out easy.

I used job weld about 10 years ago and to be fair it was really good stuff

Yep jb weld is good stuff , I sealed up a cracking in an engine block with it about 5 years ago and its still ok and hasn't leaked

This stuff will be able to hold 25psi roughly shouldn't it?

At work we use JB weld on intake manifolds running +1.5bar, seems pretty good.

I used jb weld to plug up holes in the oil pump loll. Works good.

Picked some jb yesterday, went to use it and half the tube was solid back to the auto shop.

Also look at Selley's Knead-It, another decent product and available almost anywhere in Australia.

Never heard of it ... is it only an australian product ....

Within the next month we are believe it or not producing our own stuff and putting it to market as a branded product

It knocks job weld in to touch
We will be giving away 5 free tubes for people to try
It's that good there will be no need to helicon like a bolt any more

not saying anything yet guys for obvious reasons but its something we partially made / found by accident a few months back

lets just say that for example you got a boogered thread in a cylinder head and the new stud is slopping about in the hole........ well fill the hole with our magic compound and insert the stud leave it for half hour or so then you can torque it up to 60nm and it will not move (almost to the point of snapping the stud) were still testing the product with heat and other vigorous tests to test the tensile strength
liquid steel, Jb weld, araldite, chemical metal infact no other product I know of will do that, they will all start to move after around 15-20nm

Im really excited about getting this product to market once the branding and packaging is finished we will approach leading motor factors to stock the product on the shelves as its that good and its uses in the automotive industry are potentially huge.

As said guys yeah gotta keep it quiet until patents in place to protect my product. But will be giving around 10 - 20 boxes away to people on this forum for you to try, it'll retail for around £16-18 and be a high end product in that particular field as there simply is nothing on the market to rival what this stuff can do

You'll be amazed I can assure you of that and I see a new Nismo GTR on the horizon if all goes accordingly  
I strongly believe it will be huge in the automotive industry and make me and Clare a fair few quid hopefully but don't worry I won't forget you guys lol, and il still be fixing pulsars and doing the Motorsport stuff we're doing but will be on an even bigger scale to hopefully rival the likes of Svm and litchfield, that's my goal anyway and won't stop till we get there!

Bob I was going to say think of its heat potential and from my background the electrical conductivity it takes very little to make it conduct or resist which if you could get it in both forms really opens the market up way above and beyond the automotive market.
