A lot of the gearbox bearings are available from any decent bearing supplier, just get numbers off old bearing & get ntn nsk like for like replacement not equivalents from other makers, only one box bearing has to bought from nissan as specific .
driveshaft seals can be found from bearing/seal suppliers too but that gear selector seal is best from nissan so a trip to Nissans part counter will sort that. be armed with a UK sunny gtir reg number should they be whingy lazy f00kers .
If supply issue from nissan on the selector seal then I expect an alternative could be found from decent seal specialist but will be PITA unless lucky. They only about £8 from nissan so best way go if supply time acceptable .

Thanks that's great info! I was thinking they would be hard to get hold of because of their age! good to see most parts places stock for them still! I wanted to get all seals and bearings before I took the gearbox off as I'll be taking up a ramp at my mates garage until I can get everything ready for it, not to worry if most places stock them for the UK sunny and they're the same happy days, thanks mr b

I never had much trouble with bearings in uk or asia but seals will probably be a wait from nissan, I prefer the seals from nissan, have used generic seals for driveshafts without bother but for the input shaft, selector shaft & transfer seals I would be happier with oem.
You got good chance of finding other parts that would be best replaced so would be wise plan job so does not tie up the ramp. easy enough reassemble front suspension hubs & support engine if left in so car could be manually moved if needed.
Only way a gearbox overhaul is going be quick is if next to nothing is wrong with it, you cut corners or you got a spare one to overhaul in advance then just swap it.

I've already got a new 3 peice clutch kit on the way as the e lease bearings noisey atm the other noise I get is a whiney that increases/decreases with the revs so I'm assuming it's the diff or input/main shaft that's had it? Nice to know though I've got a spare set of oem toyota ones for a lsd gearbox ill give them a try if not ill be pecking the lads head at the parts shop to match me one hahaha thanks for the advice mr b!

Anybody know of any decent priced gearbox's going for sale? Spoke to a lad on the phone today and he gave a way a rear diff and gearbox few weeks ago :/ if anybody has a non whiney gearbox please let me know
