Ngk plugs

Most performance cars use ngk iraduims.. How come we use bcr8es...  

your supposed to use iridium plugs in gtir but.................if you have a bad map or fuelling issue and the car is detting and cylinder temps are high youll end up melting the iridium tip on the plug and this will bounce around inside the cylinder literally pebbledashing the piston and combustion chamber in the head which will render your engine as fooked.

if the earth electrode breaks or melts on a copper cored plug such as bcr8es it will just throw the melted bit out the exhaust valve and should cause no damage to your engine.

downside of using them is they don't last as long as the iridiums but at a third of the price you cant grumble

So wouldn't this be the case for every other car...

yes I suppose so

my gtr takes long life iridium plugs but I trust the map on it plus all the ancilliary sensors are relatively new and not 20-25 years old so less chance of them breaking down and causing a fuelling issue

the pulsar engine with management was overly complex when it came out but now people in recent years have been dabbling and modifying certain items you then run the risk of more fuelling related issues which can cause you big troubles if everything is not 100%
and that goes for any old modified car not just a pulsar so is a bit of a safeguard using copper cored plugs

no none at all
weve run cars close to 500bhp with those plugs and no power issues

I see the gtr runs a ngk iriduim plug .... they must of ditched the denso's ones ..

I've got to change mine as been in there for five years now, they are special long lasting plugs from new and replacements are not by NGO or denso
I'm gonna whip the set from the other gtr engine I bought as it's only covered 8k miles so they will still be good

Gotta be a bit stingy now rob just spent a crap load of money getting the mods done plus I erased around 200 squids worth of rubber on the sprint day
So down to robbing bits off the other engine now before the spa trip or il have no pie and beer money left which would make me sad lol

The denso ones used in the 370z £42 each wich only nissan stock in the uk .... my boss got rid of hes in the end it worked out he spent more in plugs than taxing it ....lol
