1T-cut? Empty T-cut? 7th April 2014, 10:20 pm

My bodywork is not too bad at all. But when you look closely you can see very fine scratches.
I have polished the car before and clay bar.

But somebody told me I need to cut the car back what do they mean by this? Does it take a layer off the paint..
Any advice or tips thank you

My car is black by the way

I would keep away from t cut that's basically like sandpaper you'll have even more scratches with that if not used correctly, and yes cutting back the paint does remove a very fine layer of the paint, idearly if there's fine scratches use a product called limeprime by dodo juice this can be applied by hand or a foam pad or even better use a machine polisher, hope that helps

Would This do a better job than tcut? Or is it just easier to use

Yep much better and easier to use especially with a polisher

Poorboys is a good choice too and outstanding results but personally i see this being more of a filler rather than a cutter, limeprime on the other hand has a slightly more better cut into the paint especially by using a machine so basically better to remove scratches instead of filling.

Lol @ brush and detergent

Mr nomad marring is a form of smudging of the top coat due to excess machining where the compound being used has broken down soo much and it's physical property has changed .... Er just read that back to myself lol I'm confused

Basically it's smudging of the top coat if too much or too little product is used for a very long or short time in one area lol that's even more confusing doh

For paint buffties the pulsars paint work is piss poor, you can scratch it just by looking at it.

Indy

Your welcome mr nomad
Or you can scratch the paint work by farting next to it at a distance of approx 1 meter after a vindaloo lol

Turbazz make sure u de grease the car first so the correct process would be
1) degrease everywhere
2) wash car
3) clay car using clay bar if u want to be anal
4) wash off clay
5) dry car
6) start machining (polishing)
7) wipe off polish
Cool use a solvent to remove all polish (this is pre wax stage)
9) wax car
10) stand back and admire ur hard work

Please note this is not going to happen in 2 hours or so, to do the job properly give yourself aleast 1 full day it's a real tedious process and make sure you have a lot of pain killer tablets to hand as your back will really hurt after lol
