right need to clear a few things up on here as as theres a lot of crap floating round on the other forums at the moment regarding this site.
now seeing as my reply was deleted from the oc to a certain thread I thought I would put it on here for those that are interested as some of you are on the other sites too!

basically our aim at the start was to form one big forum with all the ideas and everything else combined, have one big meet and a few other ideas which we had all take shape throughout the progression of the forum.
the forum would not have been soley run by myself but by a few people (2 of which are nothing to do with gtir's) but bigtime into motorsport and have many many usefull contacts but the management on the oc and modifiers made it perfectly clear they wanted no part of this so we decided to go ahead on our own and break away from gti-r-us and the other two.
the forum is and will be non profit making as would have been the case if all 3 had combined as initially planned but they obviously do not see things the same way so hey ho.
theres simply not enough cars and owners left to have 3 forums which is and was the problem before with the gtiroc v modifiers shite, bloody childish and instigated by a few dickheads with nothing better to do than post crap and now this forums being suckered into it aswell. the only losers are you the owners as it affects meets, lacking numbers in everything to do with the cars, falling post rates on forums and so forth

you may have noticed that dan is no longer a part of this forum, I have a real problem with this guy but that's my own personal  business but I no longer wanted him on this site especially as a moderator as lets just say he was abusing his rank and getting way above his station which is un-acceptable.

there seems to be a hell of a lot of shit stirring going on from the same old faces and its upto people who they believe on certain things but all is not as it seems that I can assure you of.

heres a post I put in this forums defence on the oc, within minutes the entire thread was taken down

i said I would never post on this site anymore but need to do this to clear a few things up as your all like a bunch of girls tittle tattling in the playground.
ok first off George..........never ever had a problem with you so don't you dare start slating me just to try make yourself look big, in other words your not a pobody your simply a nobody so butt out when you know nothing you need to wind your neck in fella.
I left this forum because of what someone on here posted, he apologised and I accepted his appology but that changed nothing people know who im talking about here but that's in the past as far as im concerned and there it will stay unless you want me to drag it all up again.
now gtir-us is no longer connected to our new forum, me and 3 others deemed it necessary to break away from my company and run this as a separate gtir based motorsport forum because myself and an associate are opening a motorsport company in the very near future separate from gti-r us so the forum is a prep for the changeover simple as that, nothing crooked  or secretive.
people talk a lot on here but no one does and on our forum we are aiming to do instead of just yapping about it all the time.
we are in control so things will get done.
funny how this forum after years of going down the swanny has just decided to try and actually do, I wonder why!!!
my problem with dan on here is my problem and  no one elses business end of and im not gonna give you more shit to gossip about!
im also not gonna lower myself to get drawn into arguments with people on here with their snide comments but it truly does amaze me how forgetfull people can be
was not long ago everyone was slating this site with regard to 'wheres the membership money all gone' unfriendly snide remarks, unwelcoming, no one goes to meets, cant get the numbers blah blah blah
bit like when rc went up the wall and stitched everyone up yet the next thing soon as car planet opened your all organising rolling road days there lol, fickle or however the hell you spell it is an understatement, some of you have amazing short memories.
anyway hopefully ive cleared a few things up (although I know the diehards will wanna stick there 2 cents in as always) so go ahead and fill your boots
im done here the rest of you try make your own minds up for once instead of following eachother like a flock of sheep
pity its come to this but that's life as they say

weve got the thread pasted with comments made by pobody on the forum 'or busybody' as he should be called.
also the oc in particular are copying our ideas onto there own forum which is bang out of order, funny how the place has been been dead on its feet for years yet soon as I left and this forum was under construction all the backstabbers join ranks to try put this one down.
well crack on guys go for it.

from now on il be concentrating all my efforts on making this the ultimate forum for everyone
they can simply justr carry on with there backstabbing snide comments and tittle tattle behind closed doors
the proofs in the pudding as they say

anyway hope that clears things up a little:

Well said bob! I really hate backstabbers!! I stopped using the owners club, mainly because of certain points you have made in your post. Certain people on the OC think they know everything, and when a simple question is asked, they would reply like your a piece of shit to be blunt! Not all of us are as clued up as others, and quite often need advice on even the simplest of things.I'm happy with your forum, and haven't come across anything like it on here. Keep up the good work mate, and most of all thanks for making a trusted and friendly forum for all of us!!

This is exactly what we have tried to achieve from the very start  i personally wouldnt want members to feel they couldnt post a question no matter how stupid it was  with the fear of getting shot down i dont know everything to do with pulsars but go out my to try and help because lets face it we all had to start somewhere  .

i had noticed that dan(red reading) had left this site and wondered why but wasnt goign to ask as i thought it was your buisness or his which ever way round. I always found his comments to be very short and dismissive and had no time for people that were newbies and asked daft questions and maybe couldnt use the search function properly but were all new to forums and the net at some point so found that annyoing. I knew he gave alot to the community with his knowledge and parts he made etc but this does nto mean he is better than anyone else or shoudl look down on anyone. As to the forums i find this forum to be alot more friendly and the genreal atmosphere seems to be so much nicer that is just my two pennies worth however saying that it would have been nice for all forums to have joined and made the community one big group to make meets shows etc bigger anyway ill continue to be on all sites but this site by far is to me the better of the lot Wink

ps thanks for making a top notch site bob,stu etc this is just what we needed and i hope it continues to grow

Well said Bob, I haven't used OC for about 2 years coz my opinion of people on there is the same as yours & ive had this discussion with Stu & yourself at that trackday at blyton park.

Didn't take me long to work out the sort of people on that forum jocolor jokers. Just attitude towards people & new members... what sort of a forum is that?

This forum will go far now imo the way its running & how helpful & welcoming it is Smile

To be perfectly honest, when I first got my R, I found the OC first, signed up, had a root about and decided it wasn't for me because of the attitude towards new members. This was nearly 8 years ago and as far as I can see, nothing's changed. Which is odd really because a lot of those same members were on the Modifiers, which had a much friendlier feel and no question was treated with contempt.

Now, I haven't been on forums a hell of a lot lately, mainly because I learned how to maintain, fix, shout at and diagnose my R myself, and have done everything from engine rebuilds, clutch and box changes etc to fitting a bulb. I don't post up about all this because in whichever community you go on for the R, there was always a fear of someone slating what you've done or being generally ignorant and dismissive of your methods. Sure, helpful advice is always welcome, but that was a very fine line to cross into being a negative post.

However, I will say one thing to you Bob, I have been in this position myself. With my old car, a couple of my mates and I decided the forum we were on was too focused on one particular model, with our model being neglected. So we decided to create our own website and forum and "broke away" from the original site. We took some flak for that, with comments like "Why do we need another forum", and "you'll never make it". Well, my site is nearly 10 years old now, and although not the biggest by far, we have an absolutely excellent user baser, with a superb blend of characters. There are the odd tiffs, but because of how close knit we all are, it filters itself out. If a knobber joins up, the whole community forces them out naturally, just because we're all there for the same thing and don't want it ruined. So, my point is, you WILL take some stick for setting this forum up. The key is to just let it run its course, focus on your own forum, and let the others do what they want! People will soon see what your intentions are, and regardless of what forum they pick out to frequent, you will be gaining members, information, and above all, a genuine community if you stick to what you believe in.

I am going to be visiting here more often for sure, as I already feel it's a great little site. I am still on the Modifiers, but only really visit for info now since it's been uber quiet. But you have my support Bob Smile

When caleb still ran the gtiroc it was much better its only been over the last 6 or so years that it became more unfriendly.
But when caleb had it there was no other English sites really the gtir homepage was there but wasn't really a forum but had a strange email type forum

Speaking from personal experience, I've often been too scared to post up a comment/question on the OC in fear of being shot down and laughed at. I'm the type of guy who has not been formally trained in car maintenance or repair, but I'm reasonably handy when it comes to practical DIY. Therefore, I'm always willing to give things a go with a little help from the forums or other people.

Also, as a paid member on the OC, I have since realised that I'm actually paying to be a member of a community I am too frightened to use LOL What I particularly like about this forum is the fact that people have already started to write up detailed "How to" articles with the all-important pictures! Long may this continue!

Keep up the good work,
Dave

cheers for your honest comments guys cheers

I used to be ok with the oc up till someone took it over, when rishi had it I thought it was much better tbh but has gone down hill bigtime since, especially when it became to money orientated and was giving nothing back in return.
far to many backstabbers, snide remarks and keyboard warriors on there for my liking

the modifiers site ive never really got on with as its the complete opposite to the oc so with this forum weve tried to create something in between which should benefit everyone.

myself and others associated with the forum are all true petrolheads through and through as said its not about the money money money Laughing
its about making sure theres a community spirit and getting people off there arses and coming to meets etc which I hope will be subsidised by the forum

I dont understand why people have a problem with gti-r-us being associated with this forum, you specialise in gti-r's and sell the parts and can probably offer the best support possible so its a win win in my eyes for the enthusiasts, i never liked the oc simply because they rejected my application to join in the first instance then i was inactive for 2 weeks and they deleted my account so i never bothered joining back up.

your doing a fine job keep it up
