no dash lights

just a quick question before I decide to take the dash unit out this afternoon, coming home last night and all the lights on the dash and centre dials went off but needles where still light up just the outer lights went off. so I dont know what speed im doing, revs, pressure etc. any ideas before I strip the strip down anything, as I think its something simple somewhere else.

There not on a seperate fuse or something stupid are they ?

I dont know mate? theyre the white illuminated dials which prev owner fitted . thought it might be the connection on the back of the dials as they went off then a mile down the round they came on for about a second.

trying to think where i seen it not sure if it was this site mate the title was no dash lights fairly recent thread last few months. dont sound like a fuse if they did that

might of been my thread as I wrote it last year I think where the dash lights went dim. found out after it was shorting but fixed that problem.

Been in the car this morning and the dash lights work again prob wont work when I need them like at a night!!

I would remove the clocks and check to see if a wire has worked loose...
Sounds to me that you have monkey dials?
If so they will be wired in seperatly.
