Morning chaps,

Could someone give me the quick low down on popping new drive shaft oil seals in the rear diff? Is it literally just pick the old seal out and carefully press your new one in?

Thanks!

I have not done any rear diff seals but generally for seals lever out the oil seal just be careful not to damage any of the casing, but they should just pop out easy enough.
I usually press the new seal in by hand a few mm to align it then use a socket to tap it in, just make sure it goes in evenly, ensure it does not cock over to one side.
Sometimes a light smear of LM grease helps them on their way.
(when the seal is located properly it should bottom out in the casing, you will hear a note change when tapping it in)

Another tip is to put the old seal on top of the new seal to tap it in.

I find the best thing for knocking in seals is using a similar sized socket Wink
