Here we have for auction is my stunning and very close to mint example of my Kawasaki ZX9R C2.
Firstly I would like to say that I have owned 6 ZX9R's and countless ZX6's over the years and keep returning to ZX's whether they be the 6 or the 9. I can confidently say that I have never seen a ZX9r of this age in this condition anywhere. It’s practically time warp condition and it rides like a brand new bike. Looks like a new bike and has all the best upgrades whilst having all of the normal drawbacks of this model rectified and upgraded.
I bought this bike for the end of the summer on a whim, I have enjoyed it no end, however we have got a few track days booked for the winter months and I do not want to damage the bike with possible spills or even risk damaging it. She has never hit the floor and there is no panel damage and I want to keep it that way. I also have an old ZX6 which will suit winter track days better, so will use that instead.
The bike is the quickest and best condition ZX9R I've had and is the more desirable C2 model with upgraded rear suspension, rebuilt and upgraded fork internals and newly refurbished Tokico 6 pot callipers. Brand new tyres (Bridgestone battleaxe BT016R) as well and have only covered 300 miles in the dry, haven't even worn the chicken strips off yet. Valve clearances done, carbs balanced and full system fitted only 500 miles ago, coupled to the blue flame twin exit can, which sounds lovely.
The headlights has been upgraded with xenon crystal clear blue fleck headlight bulbs in a crystal clear new headlight unit, really dos set the bike apart from others I've seen and improves visibility. Rear hugger has been fitted (only part of the bike with one mark on (only from when it was fitted)) which is colour matched and really sets it apart.
There is none of the all too common paint peel on the wheels and the wheels are in mint condition.
The discs and pads were replaced at the same time as the callipers were fitted as well so are almost new. The oil and filter were both changed within 250 miles as were the chain (DID gold link) and sprockets (standard kit). The brake fluid has been changed as well so there is nothing that needs doing.
Can either be ridden as it is, which I have been doing when the weather permits, or can be laid up for the winter and then you have basically a completely overhauled mint condition bike for the summer. It has never been fitted with any crash bobbins or mushrooms or any kind and the only bodywork modification is a pair of rear paddock stand bobbins fitted which are almost essential on every bike. She was fitted with a new battery about 9 months ago as well which still holds it charge perfectly even in the recent colder weather.
I have been very pleased with the bike and genuinely believe you won’t find another in this condition, the new owner will be getting a bargain for this time of year. I will not sell to an inexperienced rider nor will I be entertained if you try picking holes in my nearly 15 year old bike. The only notable mark on it is the little mark on the rear hugger. I have cleaned the bike religiously every week as it gets dusty under my car port with its cover on. It still amazes me how good the condition is, she rides like a new bike, and always starts on the button with minimal choke even in this cold weather and does go like a rocket.
It’s a bit of an animal in the cold weather and doesn't take much throttle to spin up the rear tyre. She wheelies off the power in first and second gear and the bike is still pulling well at 175mph with a 17stone rider on it so if this is going to be your first bike, I would look elsewhere. She sticks with a lot more modern bikes and from experience on previous ZX9's they are very capable track machines too and have run rings around many newer and more powerful bikes on the track. Could be used every day and no doubt would perform effortlessly, but would be a shame to put unnecessary wear and tear on such a mint bike.
She has only got just over 26k miles as well and as anyone will tell you, this is very low indeed for this bike and they are well known for carrying off silly mileages.
Customised rear end tail tidy as well, standard indicators still but smartened rear end which is essential for the aesthetics on any older bike., with the rear hugger this really sets it aside from others on the road, also the bike is the only colour to have a Ninja in, in stunning condition with nothing of note to mention.
The screen is a clear (personal preference) double bubble screen, essential if you are a larger rider.
The rear pillion foot pegs have been removed (again personal preference) but will be sold with the bike, along with the standard exhaust end can. The headstock had been replaced with a far lighter polished version, looks lovely as well if you look at the pictures.
There are a number of receipts from work carried out over the years including the valve clearances, brake upgrade etc.
The bike has been kept to a very high standard indeed.
The MOT is due in March 16th, but the bike has covered 700 miles since last year only and the bike had no advisories. The bike can be re-mot'd if required but little need as there will be no issues with it, which will be evident on collection.
The engine is lovely and quiet, even from initial starting. The exhaust is loud and my DB meter says about 104DB without the baffles fitted. The bike will come with the baffles as well as the standard can. But she sounds beautiful and you won’t want to change it.
So in summary we have a genuine low mileage immaculate example of the ZX9R ninja C2. All the necessary upgrades done and everything consumable replaced. Nothing needs doing other than finding a new owner. I am not looking for a fortune for the bike, but please don't take the micky as I will take it back. You know what they are worth in this condition so don't waste my time offering me a part ex on your Gilera runner and some pocket fluff. Viewings welcome, please message me and we will sort this out if required.
I also have a large bike trailer so the bike can be delivered if required for the cost of fuel both ways plus tolls if required. Just let me know where you are before bidding to get a quote.
If you want me to keep the bike for more than 5 working days post auction, then a 10% deposit will be required as a minimum through PayPal to secure bike.
it’s a great bike and is loud and proud very quick and superbly reliable. Looks stunning and rides like new.
New tax laws mean no RFL unfortunately.
She is HPI clear and never been in an accident and never been down the road. All fairings are original and free from any paintwork having been done.
Bike for sale to the highest bidder, any Q's please ask away. No test rides unless you want to come on the back as I don't trust anyone with my toys.
