Theres was a time when the escort cosworth was the more expensive but lesser 4x4 2ltr hothatch to the gtir..
In my opinion this is still the case as my gtir would run rings around my escort-both similar power but the truth is the escort will hold its money better and they were my dream car when i was a school boy.so i've had a few..

This one to my mind; is the best there is and i feel very luck to own it  Very Happy

I just received my Goodwood breakfast meet "show pass" for the "Hot Hatch Sunday" venue.
Having this afternoon free, i decided to take the cossie's cover off, remove the trickle charger and give it a extra coat of wax..
Strangely, although it has 560bhp. Cleaning it, is almost as fun as driving it for me..
I always wanted a cossie, but after seeing ACE in the Clarkson christmas vid all those years ago it's been my favourite "must have" cossie.

It got dark before i could get any decent pics, so i'll go out for a drive 2mrw and get some decent shots to update this thread.

Very nice car, quite surprised that the pulsar is a better car though.

Cheers guys,
Standard cossie vs standard Gtir...
The gtir is a better car out the box in all honesty, Twisted Evil

My Escort is very very quick but my gtir is defo quicker especially when i get it back with the new inconel manifold/twin scroll/intercooler etc,

It's not a fair comparison tho, as one is a fully stripped out track car and the other is a classic which just so happens to have 560bhp and concourse looks to match...

Bob, been mega busy today but will bell you in the week pal,
I actually agree about having too many toys- going to sell a few this winter, hopefully i'll pay a bit more interest to the gtir that way Very Happy

cheers Jamie

Looks a lovely spec cosworth Jamie. Think this one is worth keeping hold of. My brother has a escort cosworth in Pacifica blue. Pretty mild spec but my pulsar would run rings around him. Seems they are going up in value just now too.

Always wanted an escort cosworth though unless I won the lottery couldn't justify buying one
They are a lot cheaper than they once were at one time not to long ago only the rs500 was more expensive
My neighbours son bought one not to long ago for seven thousand pound

They were cheaper a few years ago, i got one of mine for 10k but thet have gone through the roof recently with near standard mint ones fetching more than rs500's.

Agree with the above. My brother bought a pretty good spec escort cosworth 7 years ago. Ap floating brakes, rose jointed rear beams etc was a lovely car & paid 14k for it. You would be very lucky to pick up & clean honest high spec one for less than 20k now. That got stolen & he bought a lesser spec car for 15.5k a year later Shocked
