Rot box revival!



HELP please! Can anyone tell me the best software package to read the maps on the chips on my daughter board please? Also what cable is required to do this? Thanks in advance

I would say probably a nissan consult cable so you can hook it up to the laptop as for the programe i couldnt be sure ...sorry im not that much of help .

Been doin a bit of searchin on the google machine, ma heed is burstin! Seems to be a few software packages used by us sr20 folk. Would like to know what one works best tho, user friendly etc.

I know there is a few on the market wich one is the most user friendly i dont know i remember reading that dave used nistune software but something about buying the license to use it .

Cheers man, i've had a wee look and i'm still not sure! Lol i'm sure this board i have is from that gtworks website you sent me a link for the other day. They have their own software but its in Japan speak! Surely there is other software to read these maps?

As Nomad says use a nissan consult cable with the NIStune free trial software (the free trial runs out after 4 sessions however just uninstall form your PC and reinstall and you can keep doing that for unlimited uses  Wink ) and you can check what the ECU is doing. If you have a wideband (use this FORUM for details) you can also hook that up and check your AFRs throught the rev range to check all is ok with the boost you are running. Check my THREAD for more details on how i finally got it working. If you need anymore advice let me know  Smile

Well played bfc10. Cheers man. Wideband link is a great help. After looking at nomads link today, i fink al give it a go. Found this link on my google travels. Dont know if its any use or worth putting in diagram section but i'll be keeping a copy just cos!

Note that this cable has a serial output. If you're using a newer computer you may not have this functionality so you'll also need to buy an RS232-USB adaptor. I have always used PLMS consult cables (which have inbuilt USB converters) and have never had any issues:
