I thought i would start this thread to update when i do restorations for people, buy, tidy, race and or anything else out side of my two main projects.
First off a couple shots of the early 2000's to mid 2000's and some of the meets we ran, the rest in this post are of my first Gti-r and the adventure we had.
Early 2000's and at the start of the NZ club coming together on the UK modifiers forum.
Photo below is early 2000's we had around 45 members attend the event and around 25 Gti-r's.
Early 2000's another meet. We had pictures which i must find of this night of around 12 Gti-rs infront of the Nissan dealership
Mid 2000's we had a lot of cars attend this meet, maybe around 45 people and 15 Gti-r's it was raining heavily though and i did not want to take the group out in the wet, as a lot of them were young and no doubt wanted to show off.
My passion for these cars came from my teenage years, i ended up with my first one at the tender age of 16 years. Stock apart from wheels, lowering springs & a boost gauge. The gearbox blew almost instantly, and i handed it to our mechanic with the instructions rebuild it so it wont happen again, i was then handed a bill for the same price as the car when picking it up 4 weeks later... they had fitted a PAR gearset, which took over 400 launches and made it through 4 clutches by the time it was retired as the car was in parts 5 years down the track.

Over time i slowly started to modify the car. With Front mounted intercooler, walbro fuel pump, bigger exhaust system all the minor things you do to your Gti-r at the start of ownership. (I wish i had left it stock!)
Standard on the big wheels and some average driving i achieved a 14.2 1/4 on 9psi.
Then with the basic mods it ran a 13.7 1/4 on 10psi i was hooked.
A met a soon to become best friend who also happened to be a very good car tuner and a but older than me. He was able to start steering my modifications and mechanical abilities in the right direction.
We fitted
550cc injectors
Z32 AFM
new colder spark plugs
electronic Greddy Profect 1 boost controller
Chipped & Tuned PMLS Daughter board and map switcher
I then managed a 12.4@179km 1/4 mile and wow was the car fast.
Also got a personilised plate.
However i was young and stupid still, only around 19 at this stage, and decided that street racing was really fun. So much so that i was doing it Friday, Saturday and Sunday's and the Gti-r was beating most things on the road making it even more addictive.
This all came to a stand point though, when i was caught and lost my licence for 6 months and had the car impounded.
Picking it up from the impound..
So i had learnt my lesson no more street racing, and while i was off the road i under went some good modifications on the car.
3" exhaust
GT3071R-WG Garrett Turbo
38mm Turbonetics wastegate
800cc Sard injectors
New front mount piping
Ohlines 2 way inverted rally suspension
Full nolithane kit replacing every single bush
Solid mounted engine mounts
New DBA brakes
We tuned it and maxed out the Z32 AFM at 25psi. The car was amazingly fast.
I only raced it once on 17psi and managed a 12.2@197km 1/4 mile running the big heavy wheels, wheel spinning 1/3 of the track. The trap time being fast enough for a 10 second pass... (if everything held together and launched properly i doubt it would have)
The engine was tired though, so i decided it was time to go racing, caging the shell, and sending the engine off for a major build with legendary Nismo works team driver and Sr20 builder Reg Cook.
Big plans were made, but never came about. We started to build an SR to handle 700-1000HP range and started collecting supporting modifications, the engine was semi completed, but i never finished this project selling the shell after owning it for 7 years.
