On light throttle while driving at around 2k rpm the car runs like it has kangaroo juice in it.
It drives fine passed 2k rpm
Its mainly when in trafic or driving at 30mph
The car hates driving slow.
I have checked all vacuums. Had a new gasket on the throttle bodies.
Car boosts fine and holds it.
On idle it does drop to 500rpm every so often.
Sits at around 900rpm normal.
Its had a new fuel filter.
I havent checked the gaps on the plugs yet. Have ordered a feeler gauge.
What can i check. Ive done fault code check and checked all plugs.
Its had a new coolant sensor and temperature sensor.
I cant think of anything else to check.

Yeah thats an option. I will get some more electical cleaner..

I have also changed the carbon canister as my old one was fucked. New one is a good one.

The pips on the throttle bodies. Can i loop those like the ones i have already looped off the old vacuum system i deleted.
2 of the pips are very loose so im thinking maybe its sucking in air?

It's funny because my old n14 with a R motor used to have this exact issue, I ripped the motor out before I solved it though.

So i have noticed that the fault doesn't happen until the engine gets up to temperature.
So i have ordered a new coolant temperature sensor.
Next in the list will be an idle control valve and sensors.

I would also look at fuel injectors too if nothing else conclusive & ignition timing, dizzy, coil leads, plugs .
Afm Meter issue or related wiring or piping seems likely area , not much clues to narrow it down really .
I would use a wideband on it and a chinese Nissan cable with obd scantech (nissan) 1.29 software to read and log live data to see if gives any clues .

Thanks B.
I was thinking injectors. Will try and grab some evo ones as thats where i was going next and i have the fueling for them now.
All the vacuum is correct and theres no leaks that i can find.
I will see if my bro still has is data logit.
I have a few parts on order so will try those first and then move on.

I assumed was persistent once hot, just wondering if injector issue causing some fuel issues such as over fueling that not such noticeable issue while cold, indeed not most likely but remembered earlier posts about over fueling & smoke. Ideally want wideband & also see sensor data when running to try pick up more clues on how all things are working & to what the cause could be.

Do plug tips suggest it running overly rich !
I would be inclined bang in new set of plugs as cheap & test leads & coil.
I have seen bad coils cause similar type issue ...

I have taken the iac off and stripped and cleaned it. Replaced it and my idle was much better Smile still had a slight dip tho.
Today my sparkplugs and coil arrived. I have installed these and also cleaned the afm. Havent driven the car but started it and the idle seamed a lot better.
Im waiting for my new ht leads to arrive now.
I have got a new coolant sensor to go on also but will replace that when my rear samco hoses arrive Smile
I took the ignition module off and there was oil under it. So have cleaned that and fit it back on.
I will report back when i have driven the car.

It still has the hesitation at around 2k rpm when warm but not as noticeable. And the revs are better but still not right.
Gonna get an afm to see if that sorts it and probably another hardpipe.

I changed the ht leads and coolant sensor today and noticed a massive difference.
Car wouldnt idle lol
Checked the mixture screw and it was wound right in tight.
So i released it and wound it out until the revs were just right.
All seams good now Smile

I think I have finally sorted it Smile
Bought a hiteq relocation hardpipe and fit it and on a short drive all is good again.
Need to go on a long drive to see but it all seems fixed Smile
